Music for YouthMusic for Youth and ABRSM have been working together since 1995 to support young musicians across the UK.

Music for Youth is a national music education charity providing free access to performance and audience opportunities for young musicians across the UK.

Regional festivals

ABRSM sponsors Music for Youth's regional festivals, which are open access and free for the ensembles to perform in. All types of groups of all levels of experience are welcome - at any one festival you could see choirs, brass bands, jazz groups and steel pan bands taking to the stage.

ABRSM’s support has enabled Music for Youth to expand and develop the series, providing a local platform to thousands of young instrumentalists and singers.

Music for Youth Regional Festival Series 2015The regional festivals are the gateway to the Music for Youth season and one of the most significant strands as they have a huge reach. In 2013 around 70 festivals were held in over 50 different venues throughout the UK, involving a total of 50,000 young musicians aged between 4 and 21.

The Schools' Prom

The Schools’ Prom concerts, the culmination of the season, take place in October or November of each year. These concerts are the ultimate celebration of the UK’s diverse young music-makers and feature high quality performances, original music and unique collaborations.
