Join the BBC Virtual Orchestra!

Calling all musicians! Do you want to join the BBC Virtual Orchestra and be part of the Last Night of the Proms celebrations on Saturday 10 September 2016 with ABRSM and BBC Get Playing?

I would love to be involved – how do I participate?

BBC Get PlayingTo take part, you need to record and upload a video of yourself playing the Toreador Song from the opera Carmen – but you must hurry as the deadline of Saturday 27 August is looming!

As many clips as possible will be edited into a stunning film of all participants playing the single piece of music. The recording will be shown at BBC Proms in the Parks events on the Last Night of the Proms on Saturday 10 September and will also be available on BBC iPlayer.

You can play almost any instrument you like, and even if you can’t read music, that’s fine – if you can play by ear and know the tune, you can join our virtual orchestra!

How do I upload my recording?

It is quick and easy to upload footage of your performance – see the Get Playing website for details. There are parts for over 30 different instruments.

For those that can’t read music, we have melody only and Figurenotes versions.
