We know that there are lots of online guitar tutorials out there but we like to think that there’s none quite like Journeys. Our goal is to help guitarists forge their own journey into the world of music. We want guitar players to love playing their favourite songs, but then have the technical abilities and confidence to keep exploring music.
We’re not about the A to B, we’re here for all the bumps along the way. It’s the journey that counts and we want to equip guitarists with the skills to conquer their musical worlds.
We’ve designed our tutorials to build your guitar skills. You can dip in and dip out of our song catalogue as you please, but if you want to get the most out of your learning and increase your chances of success, we recommend following one of our learner journeys.
To join the journey, you simply select the songs you want to learn. Journeys will then create a pathway of songs to build your technical skills base. This is your personal journey. We hope that as well as reaching the destination of playing your favourite song, along the way you’ll also pick up skills you need to play anything you choose on the electric guitar.
We know that music is deeply personal and although we tried to pick a wide range of styles and genres of both male and female artists for the first 100 songs of Journeys, we know that some people’s favourite songs will be missing. Don’t worry though, we plan to expand the song list in the future; we’re also on a journey!
Compatible Browsers and Devices
Journeys is designed to work best with Google Chrome on laptop or desktop computers and for the best experience we recommend using this browser. You can learn with Journeys on Tablets and other web browser but recording features will not be available.

The free trial lasts for 2 weeks and you can cancel your free trial at any time during those first 14 days without charge. If you choose not to cancel, we will assume you’re continuing your guitar journey so your account will be charged in accordance with your preferred subscription type when your free trial ends, with your billing counted from the date of your first payment. You’ll be billed once a month or once in the year.
If you decide Journeys isn't for you, you have the option to cancel anytime.
Why do I need a payment method to start a free trial?
We ask for a payment method when you sign up to ensure that if you love Journeys you don't have to interrupt your playing at the end of the free trial. To ensure you can continue on your journey, we verify your payment method in the trail period without charging the card.
Free trial – This is your trial run, when you have signed up and selected a subscription type but no payment has been taken. Don’t worry, your account will state how many days are left in your free trial.
Active - When you have selected a subscription type and payment has been successfully taken from your card you are an active guitarist, on your journey to greatness.
Grace - We know things happen… if a recurring payment from your card fails, your account will put into a grace period of 4 days.
Cancelled – If the journey isn’t for you and you terminate your account your journey will be cancelled. Alternatively, we reserve the right to cancel your account if payments are not being successfully made.

You don’t need to prepare to join the journey
We don’t assume any skill levels, Journeys is for everyone. Whether you’ve never held a guitar before or you’re returning to it, we’re here for you. We measure your progress in Journeys with skills dials so you can track how far you have travelled.
The dials start at zero but once you have completed your first song you will quickly see the dial increases to reflect the skills learned in that piece.
Our skills dials include rhythm, chords, melody and tone and at the start of your journey they will all be set to zero. Each song has been chosen by our expert tutors in each of the four areas rhythm, cords, melody and tone. Learning new songs helps you progress on your journey and will add to your skills in these areas. Your dials increase by the value given to each area by the expert tutors who have evaluated all of our songs.
